Where is Mold found?
The short answer: everywhere. Mold is ubiquitous to our environment, therefore it is all around us in the air we breathe. Mold becomes an indoor air quality concern when there is more mold growing indoors than naturally occurring outside, or if the mold found indoors is different from the mold found outside. In either of these scenarios there is a potential for mold contamination and adverse health effects.
Mold needs water to grow. Therefore mold is most commonly found in buildings with water-damaged building materials. Here are some common places to look for mold in your building:
Basements . Attics . Crawl Space . Bathrooms

AVOID MOLD SCAMS BY CHOOSING AN INDEPENDANT TESTING COMPANY
Unfortunately there are a lot of companies out there conducting mold testing on the cheap and then conveniently offering their own remediation services to fix the problem. This is a clear conflict-of-interest and allows a scenario in which mold is allegedly found when there isn't any leaving the consumer paying thousands of dollars for bloated repair estimates or an improper and ineffective remediation.
Environmental Compliance & Testing does not offer remediation like many one-stop-shop companies, giving consumers an unbiased opinion about any contamination. It is important when choosing a mold inspector to find one who shares this commitment, and who has the equipment and experience to carry it off.
If you are in need of remediation services we will gladly share contact information for several reliable third party remediation companies we trust.
